Peter Watts' Blindsight and Echopraxia are both excellent explorations of the human mind and consciousness.

If you like Stephenson, read this, but if you've never read one of his books before, I would not recommend this as a first.

I've been reading the "Expanse" series. I liked the earlier books a bit more.

The Culture Series by Iain Banks. Love his style, love the setting, and love the stories.

It can be fairly slow at times but it's such an inspiring read.

I picked up William Gibson's "Pattern Recognition." I wasn't sure what I thought of it, at first, but it became increasingly interesting and I finished it.

Dark Matter was a good read if you like parallel universes.
