Reading Stress Test by Timothy Geithner taught me quite a bit

The Splendid and the Vile by Erik Larson. This is a factual account of 1940 and 1941 England, told as a day by day or month by month narrative describing Churchill and his close circle as the Germans ramped up their bombing campaign. It reads like a thriller, and it taught me so much about the history of the war that I never learned in high school or college.
