Monte Cristo is also my favorite novel by Alexandre Dumas

I've read them again after a few decades, and I enjoyed them both.

I'd recommend reading "Les 3 mousquetaires"

Other good novels are "Voyage au centre de la terre", "Vingt-mille lieues sous les mers"

"Le tour du monde en 80 jours"

Fifth Business (1970, Canada). Robertson Davies. I've read thousands of novels, so I'm always glad to read something new and unpredictable, but still based on the best premise: interesting characters.

"Cinq semaines en ballon"

Other good historical novels by Dumas are "La reine Margot", "Joseph Balsamo"

Sostiene Pereira (1994, Italy). Pereira Maintains. Antonio Tabucchi. My favorite book this year.
