I started the lord of the rings but i don't think i'm going to finish it.

I liked that he avoided 'paradigms' and developed the subject more systematically.

A highly academic history of the scientific revolution, not the most readable book.

Highly recommended - it made me want to learn old fashioned celestial mechanics!

Also by Maxwell, his semi-pop science lectures on Newtonian physics, 'Matter and Motion'.

I think i just don't like fiction.

(in progress) An economic history of the 2nd millennium, absolutely fascinating so far.

I got about halfway through and lost interest in the subject matter.
