Ask HN: What sci-fi books are you reading?

Dune & Foundation are excellent (and my personal favorite) sci-fi series.

The first three Dune novels are particularly good.

Dune - those are two recent favorites off the top of my head

The Dune and Foundation sagas are excellent (although a bit dated).

Snow Crash is great.

Snow Crash and The Diamond Age are good books, especially for just starting to read again.

Neal Stephenson --- Cryptonomicon.

the Hitchhiker's Guide trilogy in 5 parts

Dune & Foundation are excellent (and my personal favorite) sci-fi series.

Isaac Asimov - Foundation (and the rest of the trilogy)

I recommend going in order of publishing, start with Foundation move onto Foundation and Empire then Second Foundation

Damon (plus the rest of that trilogy)

Snow Crash and The Diamond Age are good books, especially for just starting to read again.

I'd start with Permutation City

The Moon is a Harsh Mistress

The only book I ever force on people is "A Deepness in the Sky"

Vernor Vinge --- A Fire Upon the Deep.

Robert A. Heinlein - Stranger in a Strange Land / Starship Troopers / The Moon is a Harsh Mistress
