Worm mentioned wooooo amazing how a niche webserial from 10 years ago is still being read and having an impact also, the ride doesn't have to end, lots of Worm fanfictions out there, some of them are really good

Worm by Wildbow is a pretty good tale. It was written as a web serial and follows a young girl in a world where "capes" (people with supernatural powers) are normal to a point they are regulated and entwined with education, government and crime. It can be a little hard to get into initially, first few chapters are necessary set up, but once the ball starts rolling its a real page turner. There are a lot of entangled plot lines that almost all add major substance to the larger plot. I'm actually re-reading it again just because I remember it so fondly. With all the superhero/game-lore shows and movies out now, it would be a fan dream to see the Worm-verse come to life as a live-action or anime series. The serial nature of it would adapt naturally I'd imagine.
See https://www.reddit.com/r/Fantasy/wiki/lists My recommendations, in no particular order: * The Riyria Revelations by Michael Sullivan * Memory, Sorrow and Thorn by Tad Williams * To Ride Hell's Chasm by Janny Wurts * Worm by Wildbow * Cradle by Will Wight (think anime like Naruto in book form, but without fillers/fan-service) * Farseer by Robin Hobb * Powder Mage by Brian McClellan * The First Law by Joe Abercrombie * The Dagger and the Coin by Daniel Abraham

Meditations - Marcus Aurelius -- A fine classic I enjoyed. Might count, might not, since it finished in March but was going on before. I loved Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality - Eliezer Yudkowsky - http://hpmor.com/ Loved Masters of Doom - David Kushner I liked Worm - Wildbow - https://parahumans.wordpress.com/table-of-contents/ -- but it falls short of overall greatness and I don't think it's worth its 22-average-books length if I were to go back in time and decide on rereading... Learn to Play Go: A Master's Guide to the Ultimate Game (Volume I) - Janice Kim -- I've been learning Go and thought this book was particularly excellent for beginners. There are at least 4 other books I'm close to finishing and I might get one done before the end of the month... Volume 2 of the above Go series, Mythical Man-Month, A handbook of traditional living, or The Waking Dream.

Just got a major literary hangover from finishing http://parahumans.wordpress.com/ .. not really a book, more an online series. Be warned - it is long, addictive (and sometimes a grind/confusing/difficult to suspend belief [only occasionally though]), but the world building & range of characters is astounding. Thinking about doing a mind flush with either a short Kurt Vongegut or Terry Pratchett then on to tackle The Origin of Wealth, by Eric Beinhocker
