I'm all about nonfiction. Technical books, mostly programming, investing, true crime and books about some events. I really enjoyed "Bad blood" and a recent book about Chernobyl explosion but I cannot remember it's name. I read a few times a week tops.

This. I read this book January this year and it was terrific. It reads like a hollywood movie. Some people in that book are just insane.
I'll recommend this as well. Another great book in the "company exploding in a case of massive fraud" genre is Billion Dollar Whale by Tom Wright and Bradley Hope, which goes into the 1MDB scandal.

I Recommend this too. Read this back in January. 10/10
Bad Blood by John Carreyrou, a book about the infamous blood testing startup Theranos. I couldn't put it down. Read the whole thing in a day and a half. It's basically a gripping thriller set in Silicon Valley. The story focuses on what went on within the company since its inception. It's completely mind boggling how and why it all happened.
Reading this right now. God this book is soo good, it's a must read for any startup founder.
I just finished the audiobook of American Kingpin and LOVED IT. Nonfiction that reads like a thriller. Very well done and the narration was also excellent (which also comes into play a lot for audiobooks!). Bad Blood by John Carreyrou about the rise and fall of Theranos is very similar feel to American Kingpin, if you enjoyed one you will probably love the other; I thought both were equally fantastic, probably my best reads of 2018.

Bad Blood by John Carreyrou. John is the WSJ reporter whose investigation of Theranos brought to light their behavior. Every chapter you read there will be at least one "Holy shit. I can't believe someone did that" moment. Bill Gates concurs https://www.gatesnotes.com/Books/Bad-Blood
Yes it’s a great book, non-fiction but riveting.
thanks for mentioning Bad Blood - truly great book, possibly best in 2018
+1 for Bad Blood and Shoe Dog

The best books that I read this year were Bad Blood by John Carreyrou (this book is about Theranos and is absolutely insane, it reads like a thriller) Educated by Tara Westover (this is a fascinating memoir about a woman who was raised by fundamentalists and "escaped" to BYU) The Undoing Proect by Michael Lewis (about the relationship between Daniel Kahneman and Amos Tversky and their research together) The Rise and Fall of DODO by Neal Stephenson (I love all of his books)

I was just going to mention "Bad Blood" as well. I am currently reading it and just can't stop.
This isn't quite in the category, but John Carreyrou's nonfiction book "Bad Blood", which covered the rise and fall of Theranos, satisfied me in a similar way. There's plenty of crime, although it's really about pretending to be high-tech rather than actually being high tech. For people in tech who love a good fraud story, I highly recommend it.
I also couldn't stop reading it, and devoured it in one day. Amazing read.
