Wool

* Greg Egan’s short story collections, Diaspora, and Permutation City. Fair warning, Egan puts the “hard” in “hard sci-fi”. * Haven’t finished the Expanse final trilogy, but I really enjoyed the first two. * The Wool series * Project Hail Mary, for story reasons I’d recommend the audio book. * We Are Bob trilogy, fourth book is garbage. * Old Man’s War * The Culture Series by Ian Banks * If you enjoyed Seveneves, and thus can tolerate Stephenson’s consistent habit to drop the ball in the last 20% of his books, Diamond Age is enjoyable.

Wool

Wool by Hugh Howey (fiction)

I really liked the Wool series, Wool, Shift, Dust. The Expanse series is fast paced, hollywood-style action, sci-fi but gets sort of repetitive in the 4th book.

Are you looking for something similar? It's not easy to recommend something based on a single book but have a look at Vicious by V. E. Schwab, This Perfect Day by Ira Levin or Wool by Hugh Howey.

Third that one. I'm not anxious to see a movie of Wool, but I hope one gets made for the sake of the author.

Molly Fyde series from Hugh Howey. Loved his WOOL books, so giving this series a go. Like it a lot. Mindstorms: Children, Computers, And Powerful Ideas - just started this, and enjoying it so far.
