His Sirens of Titan had a huge impact on me as a teen, the first novel I really loved. Then Breakfast of Champions. I'll try those two, thanks.

Reading “The Easy Way to Stop Smoking” by Alan Carr probably added years to my life. “Sirens of Titan” by Kurt Vonnegut resonated with me on an emotional level.

Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut, this book changed the way I relate to others and made me more empathetic.
Central Station by Lavie Tidhar is an amazing charming story of a world deeply steeped old sitting baking world where new things are coming about. It is charm & delight in the purest & simplest. Spin by Robert Charles Wilson. "Robert Charles Wilson is a hell of a storyteller," said Stephen King and this wonderful tour through time and space, humanity & people's lives is incredible. The Quantum Thief series by Hannu Rajaniemi is open, scenic, wild, & so so vivid, one of the most beautiful worlds I've ever visited, & it reminds me so much of a joyous wild swashbuckling run. The mystery of the main character is enchanting. Infoquake series by David Louis Edelson is a gripping suspenseful rise of a star entrepreneur that redefines and radically expands the world, amid an already boisterous & full & busy beautiful world already overflowing in seamless technology everywhere. Although the plot line whips along with some suspense & tension, the scenery and the voyage is incredible.…

How did it change your life? I have to say, me too! I didn't know how to pick just 1 book, but this is a great choice. The first novel I ever read that really spoke to me 100%, I read it over and over for many months on the school bus. So funny, so touching. I never go very long without talking about something from it. Hope the movie's 1/2 good.
Slaughterhouse-Five, Galapagos, Sirens of Titan Basically, any Kurt Vonnegut book that isn't Cat's Cradle (good but overrated). Bias note: I'm still young, but these shaped me easily.

If you haven't read a Kurt Vonnegut book, I highly recommend that you do. The Sirens of Titan, Mother Night, Breakfast of Champions, and Slaughterhouse 5 are all great places to start.

Professionally, The Art of Project Management did the most for me. Privately, general-fiction-wise, The Wind-up Bird Chronicles by Haruki Murakami did the most for me. Privately, SF-wise, three books by Kurt Vonnegut: Cat's Cradle, Slaughterhouse-five and The Sirens of Titan

Somebody mentioned The Sirens of Titan (Vonnegut) in the comments below. I've gotta second that recommendation. It's Vonnegut's first novel, and probably not his best, but it's certainly my favorite. If you resonate at all with Vonnegut's humor and pathos, then please oh please grab a copy of Sirens. I'm tired of being the only one at the dinner table who's read it!
I really enjoyed _The Sirens of Titan_ and _Cat's Cradle_, too.

I haven't read Breakfast of Champions yet, but it's on my list. The Sirens of Titan is also a good one.
Cursed is the Peacemaker - Boykin. Excellent biography/narrative of an American diplomat working in the Middle East. Sirens of Titan - Vonnegut. Not my favorite of his but my first. I've been hooked since then!
