I've read the Murderbot series through a few times now. It's basically easy-to-consume comfort food.

The Murderbot series is excellent, too.
These are really fun, I’m on the fourth book now.
The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells
I caught up with some science fiction this year. The Murderbot diaries books by Martha Wells - 6/10. Mixed on these. They're fun to read. The setting is cool and the worldbuilding is shallow but effective (i.e., don't read it if you want game of thrones in space). Each novella takes an afternoon to read. I think "snarky violent droid" is overcooked these days and lost interest after book 5. Light by M. John Harrison - 7/10 excellent prose; great multiple-storyline plot; the journey was better than the destination, but it kept me thinking Far from the Light of Heaven by Tade Thompson - 7/10 Fun. If "near future Nigerian/British post-colonial frontier action with guns, robots, and psychic aliens" sounds cool to you, check it out. I liked his Rosewater Trilogy just as much. Blindsight and Echopraxia by Peter Watts - tough to rate these. brilliant ideas, VERY challenging plots. I wish I didn't get so confused by the end of each book.…

Thats exciting! I might read the Remembrance this year. Murderbot is exciting! There is very little world building, you are thrown into the world and you slowly figure things out. Each novella is a new adventure, but as a whole(the series) its a lot more; an android seeing and understanding humans in a very different way. It also explores how a world of robots would have various bots with each having a different personality(they develop) based on their lifelong assigned task. The Muderbot itself is sulky, tired of incompetent humans and its dry behavior adds humor to the narration. Plus it addicted to watching soap operas so it has a very unique understanding of human creativity and reality.
I've recently been enjoying "The Murderbot Diaries" by Martha Wells.

Sorry for the wall of text. 1. Bourne (The language and world of this novel are extraordinary - everything is falling apart yet brimming with life. Strangely moving) 2. The Design of Everyday things (Essential for anyone in UI/UX) 3. All Systems Red: The Murderbot Diaries (Highly engaging, entertaining sci-fi novella series, from an author that can write a very decent robot protagonist) 4. The Power (Interesting story with sci-fi elements on the dynamics of power, sex, and gender roles. I didn't care for the book, but the first 3/4 of the book are amazing) 5. Side Hustle: From Idea to Income in 27 Days 6. 7 brief Lessons on Physics 7. The Last Lecture (The energy and positivity coming from a man knowing he's about to die is infectious. Great read) 8. A wizard of Earthsea (Move over Harry Potter, this is the essential children's story about wizards) 9. Exploring diabetes with owls (Funny, irreverent) 10. Miss Peregrines home for peculiar children (Made an effort to read more YA this year - this was the best in this series, but I still hated it. There's a host of better YA series out there.) 11. A Wizard of Earthsea: The Tombs of Atuan (See 8.)…
