I think The Goal is one of those books that has had a profound positive impact on my life. Another one is Freakonomics. There are no books that would teach us concepts such as Theory of constraints and economic incentives in the fun and simple way like these books.

I strongly recommend the following: Good to Great: Why some companies make the leap and Others Don't The Goal: A process of Continuous Improvement Team of Teams Strategy that Works: Bridging the Stategy to Execution Gap There isn't a single book that will teach you everything you need to know, but these 5 books taken together will cover nearly everything. The points I suggest paying the most attention to are level 5 leadership, the hedgehog concept, the flywheel concept, Kaizen style continuous improvement, how to organize groups of teams to avoid micromanaging, and how to work with a company culture to make decisions supported by real data that tells you what the most effective decisions would be and how to achieve this by choosing concepts to promote to employees in order to guide their decision making.

The Goal is both insightful and hilarious. The system-oriented lessons/examples are great. The 80s style dialogues, integrations, and throwbacks are fun sideshows.
The Fifth Discipline by Senge. Also a great introduction to systems thinking. Also everything written by Goldratt. In particular: The Goal and It's not luck Both are business novels, they read lightly but the lessons are profound.

I didn't love this book, it was OK. It's heavily based off The Goal, and I thought that book was a bit better. I think if you have a certain dysfunction in your team AND the mandate to fix it, then The Phoenix Project is a must read. For everyone else it's kind of a waste.
